September is gone and AnTuTu is out with its monthly report on the top 10 best-performing Android smartphones. In the list, Asus’ ROG Phone takes the first place mostly due to its overclocked CPU on the Snapdragon 845 platform. Instead of running the four big cores at 2.8 GHz, the ROG Phone’s clock speeds go up to 2.96 GHz.
Second place has been occupied with the Xiaomi gaming smartphone Black Shark, which was placed on the top in the August list. Mi Black Shark also has an excellent liquid cooling system that helps it dissipate heat better than other devices with similar specs, allowing it to be more stable when running with high frequency and therefore score higher in benchmarks.
The device has been just placed above OnePlus 6, which is placed 3 in the list with an average Antutu score of 289,424 points. The Snapdragon 845 processor plus 8 GB of RAM, along with good system optimization laid solid foundation for its strong performance, justifying its place on the list.
The list continues with the Vivo NEX S, Xiaomi’s Mi 8, Oppo Find X, Samsung Galaxy Note9, Asus Zenfone 5z. Mi Mix 2S and the cheapest Snapdragon 845-powered flagship taking the 10th place, the Pocophone F1.
Unsurprisingly, the chart is dominated by Snapdragon 845-powered smartphones but things might change after this month as Huawei’s Kirin 980 SoC has all that it takes to disrupt the market powering up the company’s Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X, and Mate 20 RS Porsche Design.
Keep in mind, the ranking consists of phones that have at least 1,000 units running the benchmark and scores are averaged across all handsets running the latest V7 version of the software. Additionally, the previous ranking included smartphones only from the Chinese market while this one extends to the global one.
