One of the key USP of OnePlus as a company is their agility to roll out the latest Android to their device and we can say that delivery the highly efficient mobile operating system at a faster speed is one of the major reasons why the company continues to be a trendsetter in the market. Continuing the trend, OnePlus was quick to roll out Android 8.0 Oreo update to OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T even as it decided to skip it on the OnePlus 3 series for Android Pie. But now it seems that it will take the Chinese manufacturer longer than usual to roll out Android 9.0 Pie update on OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 5 series.
OnePlus chief executive officer Pete Lau in a Weibo post in a response to a user has assured that while the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 5 series smartphones will get an Android 9.0 Pie update upgrade, however, it will take the company longer than usual to roll out the update. Lau while asking the users to remain patient said that the company’s engineers were working on the update and that the update will be rolled out soon.
Besides confirming the delay of Andriod 9 Pie update to OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 5 series smartphones, Lau also confirmed that OnePlus’s upcoming flagship device OnePlus 6T will come with pre-installed Android 9.0 out-of-the-box along with the company’s own user interface, Oxygen OS, on top.
In addition to this, the OnePlus CEO also confirmed that the OnePlus 6T will launch in China on November 5, a week after its global launch.
If we talk about the upcoming device from the OnePlus, the company has already revealed that the OnePlus 6T will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner, a bigger battery, and a waterdrop notch. Additionally, we also know that OnePlus 6T will not sport the 3.5mm jack. Apart from this, the phone will come with a better UI which will be powered by the company’s most distinct version of OxygenOS, company’s software expert Szymon has confirmed.
As reported earlier OnePlus 6T will be launched in New Delhi on 30th October, for which launch invite can be bought from tomorrow 17th October.
