The update is in the form of OxygenOS 9.0 and brings lots of improvement to the user interface of the device and some cool features of Android 9 Pie. The software update brings ‘Adaptive Battery’ feature, which takes stock of the apps you use the most and prioritises battery usage for those.

The Open Beta Programme of the update was available since 3 September 2018, and now, the full version has been rolled out after it was tested and optimised by members of the OnePlus community.

The total download size of the OxygenOS 9.0 update on OnePlus 6 is about 1521MB, though it may be different on certain units. To find out whether your OnePlus 6 is ready for an update, go to Settings>System Updates.

OxygenOS 9.0 for the OnePlus 6 is rolling out in stages. A few users get it today and if they don’t report any issues with the update, it will be rolled out on a wider scale over the next few days. In an official announcement on OnePlus 6 forum, the company said “This OTA will have a staged rollout. The OTA will be received by a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs. Using VPN to download this build might not work as the rollout Is not based on regions and is randomly pushed out to a limited number of devices.”
