It seems that Apple new iPhones are facing a tough time. Considering the price of the device, the Global popularity of the devices has seen a drastic decline. The decline of the demand has pushed Apple to reduce the production of new iPhones and reduce the price of the device in some global market. Another effect of this move has been observed that Apple resumed iPhone X production.
As per the reports, Apple could slash prices of the iPhone XR in markets like Japan, and revive production for the older iPhone X, even though that model is no longer sold at the company’s own stores. According to a new report in the Wall Street Journal, lower than expected demand for iPhone XR has prompted Apple to consider a price cut in the Japan mark.
The report says Apple will offer “subsidies to mobile-network operators in Japan to shore up sales” of the iPhone XR. It adds that Japan’s major wireless carriers will cut the iPhone XR prices as early as next week.
Apple has reportedly cut production for the iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max, according to an earlier report by WSJ. Coming to the iPhone X, it looks like Apple has resumed production for the device. The report is quoting people in the supply chain.
The reason for the revival of iPhone X production: Apple’s deal with Samsung under which it has to buy a certain amount of OLED panels. Thanks to the cut in the iPhone XS and iPhone XR production, Apple needs to make up for it and has decided to do this by reviving production for the older variant.
Apple is currently facing the tough competition from the Chinese Smartphone companies like OnePlus and Huawei, where they are selling quality products at a very cheap price compared to Apple flagships.
Above report also suggest that customer or Apple fans have not accepted that the argument of Tim Cook about the pricing of the new iPhones, where he said in an interview, “The phone has replaced your digital camera. You don’t have a separate one anymore. It’s replaced your video camera. It’s replaced your music player. It’s replaced all of these different devices.”
