Dark Mode is one of the best features that has been developed recently by the App developers, as its eases the use of smartphone in night giving users eyes a relaxed environment to watch on the screen. This feature is very much useful for instant messaging apps. After unveiling the beta testing programme of Dark mode on WhatsApp and Instagram, leaks suggest that Facebook is working on dark mode for Facebook Messenger app. But this isn’t the first time Facebook was spotted testing the Dark mode feature on the messenger app – last year in September a similar case was seen.
On December 31, 2018 teardown expert Jane Manchun Wong shared a screenshot on Twitter stating that Facebook has started testing the dark mode feature within the Messenger app in select countries. The screenshot included a picture of a dialogue box saying, “While we put the finishing touches on dark mode, it won’t appear everywhere in the app.” The screenshots made it clear that the social media giant is secretly working on the dark mode feature and this year we might see the new tool rolled out for its Android and iOS users.
Once Facebook finishes the final touches, we shall see the Dark Mode feature on its messenger app. The dark mode feature will turn the background colour to black and its text to completely white. However, the icons will still remain coloured, with only the white spaces transformed into black, or as it’s called – Dark mode.
The Dark Mode functionality is similar to the upcoming WhatsApp Dark Mode – reduce eye strain and reduce battery consumption. The Dark Mode will reduce battery consumption on smartphones because there will be minimum colours used on the display.
Dark Mode feature helps in converting the entire screen in black while the texts it with the white embedded with the white colour
