The biggest buzzed word currently in the smartphone market is foldable smartphone, all most all the OEM’s is somewhere trying their hands on the technology. Yesterday we have reported about the Xiaomi foldable device in the video, which is cable of three folds and now the news is for Google foldable device, which might be know as foldable Pixel phone.
Earlier we have reported that companies like Samsung, Huawei, Vivo, LG, and Xioami is working on the device. It was started with the Samsung foldable device all most a year back and in last November Samsung finally showed us a concept foldable phone at the Samsung Developer Conference (SDC 2018) in San Francisco, California. It did not detail whether the smartphone will go on sale anytime soon or how much it will cost, but as per the recent reports, Samsung will launch the device in Q1 of 2019.
With all the OEM’s trying something new in this segment clearly indicates that, future of smartphone is going to be foldable and 2019 may see significant no of foldable devices being launched.
Coming back to the foldable pixel phone, Google has launched the pixel series of device three years back, but they yet to taste the success with the line-up, in
Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin last year claimed that Google is working on as many as seven smartphones. Of that portfolio, two models already debuted as the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL and four models were said to come as an upgrade to the existing Pixel lineup over time. Murtazin, however, mentioned that one of the seven devices in the pipeline is a smartphone sporting a flexible display.
In the latest development on the subject, tipster with the @TechNavvi username on Twitter says that the foldable Pixel phone by Google is currently in works. The tipster even posted an image – apparently a patent application pertaining to the new model.
It is important to state that Google announced various optimisations to support foldable smartphones and even held a dedicated “Foldables” session to give a glimpse at what’s cooking up behind the scenes at Android Dev Summit last November.
As we will move ahead in 2019, more information and few devices from the different company with foldable design will become the reality.
