Holiday session is approaching and this is time to welcome some of the cool flagship phones from top brands. Apple is going to launch the new iPhone’s on September 12 and now we have dates of Google event as well, Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be launched on 9th October at New York City this time, unlike past Google events that were held closer to its home in Mountain View.
The larger of the pair, the XL, will reportedly feature the most substantive changes, including a notched display and dual front cameras.
There’s not much to go by from the invite in terms of clues — just a simple “I <3 NY” phrase, which subtly hints at the Pixel 3 with the numeral in the heart emojicon, but given the leaked devices already out there, Google probably doesn’t need to do much more to promote the announcement.
The Pixel 3 XL will likely have a 6.2-inch screen with an edge-to-edge design; the Pixel 3’s screen is expected to be 5.4 inches. Both phones are likely to have a single rear camera, even with the front dual lens setup Google reportedly has planned for the Pixel 3 XL.
The new phones may come with bundled Pixel Bud earphones that plug into the USB-C port, according to some leaked unboxing video.
The Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are the third generation of the Google-branded Pixel line that was first introduced in 2016. In the past few weeks, hardware units of both devices have made their way into the world, giving us a very good idea of what to expect from the announcement.
As far as the design of the device is concerned, the Pixel 3 XL will have a big and tall notch alongside a not-insignificant chin, while the smaller Pixel 3 will boast a more symmetrical design. The much-rumored Pixel Watch isn’t going to be making an appearance.
