Honor has launched two new devices Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max, as a successor of Honor 7X. The Phone was launched in China.
Speaking of the affordable variant first, the Honor8X comes with a 6.5-inch waterdrop display, which the brand is calling “Pearl” screen. The panel bears a screen resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, and features negligible bezels all around. In the performance department, the handset gets the latest Kirin 710 SoC. The Honor 8X is being offered three RAM and storage configurations: 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB, which can be expandable up to 400GB via dedicated microSD card slot.
Coming to the larger variant, the Honor 8X Max comes with a huge 7.12-inch display with the same ‘pearl’ notch and 2,244 x 1,080 pixels resolution. The performance is being driven by the Snapdragon 660/ Snapdragon 636 SoC. The chipsets are paired with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB expandable storage. In optics, the Honor 8X Max dual camera features a 16MP + 2MP sensors on the rear. It also features Dolby Surround sound to make a complete multimedia device. A 5,000mAh battery rounds up the specs sheet of the Honor 8X.
Honor 8X, Honor 8X Max price
The Honor 8X price in China has been set at CNY 1,399 (roughly Rs. 14,700) for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant, while its 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,599 (roughly Rs. 16,800) and the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant comes at CNY 1,899 (roughly Rs. 20,000). The handset will be available through Vmall, Tmall, Suning, and Jingdong.
Pre-orders for all the three Honor8X variants will begin on September 6, and sales will commence September 11. The Honor 8X Max, on the other hand, comes with a price tag of CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 15,700) for the 64GB storage variant, while its 128GB storage variant is priced at CNY 1,799 (roughly Rs. 19,000).
Both variants will go on sale in the country through Vmall, Tmall, Sunning, and Jingdong. The smartphone will be available for purchase starting September 6.
Honor 8X, Honor 8X Max specifications
As a successor to the Honor 7X, the dual-SIM (Nano) Honor 8X runs EMUI 8.2.0 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo and features a 6.5-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) TFT IPS display along with an 18.7:9 aspect ratio and 397ppi of pixel density.
There is an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710F SoC, coupled with 4GB and 6GB RAM options. The smartphone has a dual rear camera setup that comprises a 20-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor, along with an f/1.8 aperture.
The camera setup is accompanied by an LED flash. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel sensor that is backed by an f/2.0 aperture.
The Honor 8X has 64GB and 128GB of onboard storage options that both are expandable via microSD card. The smartphone has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Sensors on board include an ambient light sensor, compass, fingerprint sensor, gravity sensor, gyroscope, and a proximity sensor. Besides, the handset packs a 3,750mAh battery and measures 160.4×76.6×7.8mm.
The dual-SIM (Nano) Honor 8X Max, on the other hand, runs EMUI 8.2.0 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo and features a 7.12-inch full-HD+ (1080×2244 pixels) TFT IPS display along with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 72 percent NTSC colour gamut, and 350ppi pixel density.
It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC, coupled with 4GB RAM. The smartphone has a dual rear camera setup that has a 16-megapixel primary sensor along with an f/2.0 aperture and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor along with an f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, there is an 8-megapixel sensor along with an f/2.0 aperture.
The Honor 8X Max has 64GB and 128GB storage options that both are expandable via microSD card. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone has 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB. Onboard sensors include an ambient light, compass, gravity sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. Besides, the smartphone packs a 5,000mAh battery and measures 177.57×86.24×8.13mm.
