HMD has launched a slew of Nokia phone this year, most of which fall in the budget to mid-range segments. And if you see Nokia phones has started getting the older charm back. As per the reports company sold 150 units of new Nokia 6.1 every second in the first sale of the device in India.
With all this company is yet to announce a true 2018 flagship Nokia phone, and with just a few more months to go before the year ends, one expects that a flagship is just around the corner. Now, a new Nokia phone has been spotted on China’s 3C certification site, which suggests this could be the high-end Nokia phone we have been waiting for.
The Nokia phone comes with a model number TA-1131, and there is some expectation that this could be the rumoured Nokia 9 flagship. The certification itself doesn’t reveal anything apart from the fact that it supports 5V/3A, 9V/2A and 12V/1.5A charging speeds, which confirms that it will have fast charging support.
That’s not really surprising since most Nokia phones support fast charging. The certification only really tells us that a new Nokia phone is in the works and seeing as how HMD has already launched a bunch of affordable smartphones already, all fingers now point towards a new flagship.
The new Nokia phone will likely be launched in China first before goes global, a trend HMD has been following with the Nokia X5 and Nokia X6, which launched globally as the Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 6.1 Plus, respectively
Back in March, there were reports that HMD could launch a Nokia 8 Pro and Nokia 9 in the second half of 2018. These phones are expected to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 845 chipset.
Notably, the Nokia 9 has been rumoured to sport a penta-lens setup, which is now closer to being possible after HMD recently acquired the PureView trademark from Microsoft. A 2018 flagship Nokia phone with great cameras is exactly what the company needs to cap off the year on a strong note.
The company is also expected to launch the Nokia X7 and this certificate can be for that device as well. We should know more about this mysterious new Nokia phone in the days to come.
