HMD Global has finally launched Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus officially in India. Both of these phones have 90 percent glass on the surface area. Nokia 6.1 Plus is the first notch phone from Nokia in the Indian Market.
Nokia 6.1 Plus supports AI enhancements for facial recognition on both its rear and front cameras. It also supports the “Bothie” feature, which lets you shoot from both the rear and front cameras at the same time. The native camera also lets you live stream to Facebook and YouTube.
Other than all other features Nokia 6.1 comes loaded with Android One software which guarantee two years of latest Android OS updates.
Nokia 5.1 Plus has a dedicated NPU for AI-related tasks. Nokia 6.1 Plus has a 16MP+5MP camera, the Nokia 5.1 Plus has 13MP+5MP camera combination. Both offer a Bokeh effect. The camera is powered by AI tech from HMD Global as well.
Specifications for Nokia 6.1 Plus
The Nokia 6.1 Plus will feature a notched 5.8-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2280×1080. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that is expandable to 400GB. The Nokia 6.1 Plus will be backed by 3,060mAh battery that supports QuickCharge 3.0.
To click photos, the Nokia 6.1 Plus will sport a 16MP + 5MP vertically stacked dual rear camera, with an aperture of f/2.0. On the front, the phone will come with a 16MP camera for clicking selfies. The phone, like other Android Nokia smartphones, will come with a ‘bothie’ mode captures video from the front and back camera simultaneously.
Connectivity options on the Nokia 6.1 Plus will include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port.
Specification of Nokia 5.1 Plus
Nokia 5.1 Plus Plus has a 5.9-inch notch display with HD+ resolution. It is powered by MediaTek Helio P60 MT6771 processor clocked up to 1.8GHz coupled with 3GB of RAM. The phone comes with 32GB of built-in storage and supports expandable storage up to 400GB.
Nokia 5.1 Plus Plus has a dual-rear camera consisting of a 13-megapixel sensor with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, and 5-megapixel depth-sensing sensor. The camera is accompanied by a LED flash. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel camera with a f/2.2 aperture.
The smartphone is powered by a 3,060mAh battery. On the software front, it runs on Android One (Oreo).
Price and availability of Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 5.1 Plus
Nokia 6.1 Plus will go on sale on August 30 on the Nokia website and Flipkart. Users have to register beforehand for the sale. Price of the phone is Rs 15,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version. Users can register on the Nokia website as well in order to be notified of the sale.
Coming to the Nokia 5.1 Plus, this will go on sale in September. The price has not been confirmed. The global price is Euro 199, which comes to Rs 15,000 plus, though the official India price should be lower than the Nokia 6.1 Plus.
