After lots of leaks and long wait, it seems that we have the date for the launch of much anticipated device of 2019, Nokia 9 Pureview. Nokia 9 Pureview is expected to launch in MWC 2019 and finally we can say that official Nokia 9 Pureview launch invite from HMD Global has been sent for its event at MWC 2019 in Barcelona.
Going by previous teasers, we suspect that other than Nokia 9 Pureview launch, Nokia will show a couple of hot smartphones. One is the much-anticipated penta-lens Nokia 9 and the other one is the rumored Nokia 8.1 Plus with a punch-hole camera on the front.
The Nokia 9 Pureview launch event will be held on February 24 at 4:00 PM CET. We’ll be on site bringing you detailed coverage on everything that’s being unveiled so make sure you are around when the time comes.
The device is going to be the world’s first smartphone with 5 camera setup, earlier Samsung has launched the Galaxy A9 with the quad camera. Nokia 9 PureView is supposed to be the next big flagship phone from HMD Global and this one could take the extra camera trend to an all new level.
Under the hood, the Nokia 9 PureView will likely come with a Snapdragon 845 chipset and not Qualcomm’s next-gen Snapdragon 855 processor. This wouldn’t be surprising considering the Nokia 8 Sirocco was launched at MWC last year with a Snapdragon 835 chip instead of a Snapdragon 845 SoC. The Nokia 9 PureView will also come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There may be an 8GB + 256GB configuration on the cards as well. Earlier well-known tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks), has shared a press render to showcase the design of the device.
Nokia 9 PureView expected price in India
As a flagship smartphone, the Nokia 9 PureView will come with a premium price tag. That being said, the phone may not cost as much as an iPhone XS or Galaxy S10. According to a leak by Nokia_Leaks on Twitter, the Nokia 9 PureView’s European pricing will be set around EUR 749 or EUR 799 depending on the market. This puts it roughly in the Rs 60,000 bracket in India, although you can expect the company to price the device more competitively in the country, if the flagship reaches the Indian market.
The leaked pricing is, in fact, similar to what the Nokia 8 Sirocco was priced in Europe. To recall, the Nokia 8 Sirocco was launched in India last year at Rs 49,999, so there is a good chance the Nokia 9 PureView will come to India with a similar or slightly higher price tag.
