HMD in the past few months has unleashed an army of mid-range and budget smartphones. These include the Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 6.1, Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1. Now, a new smartphone seems to be gearing up to hit the shelves. HMD briefly teased a launch of a new smartphone via its Nokia Mobile Taiwan handle on Facebook and that can be Nokia X7
Although it has not been mentioned as to what smartphone the company will launch, rumours on the web point towards the arrival of the Nokia X7. It is worth adding that Nokia X5 and the Nokia X6 that launched in China a few weeks ago came as Nokia 5.1 Plus and Nokia 6.1 Plus globally. Going by this method, the Nokia X7 might be launched as Nokia 7.1 Plus globally.
The teaser image on Facebook showed the smartphone from the front with the camera app opened. This may also mean that the handset could be having low-light photography as one of the key features upon its launch. The text in the post says that smartphone will have 19:9 aspect ratio display. It is not for sure if the smartphone will have a notch or not.
Since the smartphone was teased by the company’s Taiwan Facebook Page, it is likely to reach there first followed by other regions. The post has been removed now from Facebook.
Nokia X7 has been a subject to some leaks and rumours since quite some time. Last month, the display panel of the handset leaked in an image shared by the Vtechgraphy website. It showed a panel with a notch on top like the Nokia X5 and the X6.
The report also claims that the device could be the Nokia phoenix smartphone that is scheduled to be launched later this year. Interestingly, the report also states that the smartphone is currently being manufactured by Foxconn.
Some of the specifications expected for the Nokia X7 include 6-inch screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor, 4GB RAM, and 64GB inbuilt storage. Like other smartphones in the series, this may also run on Android One.
