We have seen many reports about the coming of OnePlus 6T in short time. Recently on the official OnePlus forum one of the editors advised the community to hold on for the launch of OnePlus 6T if they are not in hurry to buy the device.
The trend of two phone in a single year started with the launch of OnePlus 3T. After that OnePlus has continued to stick with the tradition of launching a second, slightly touched up variant.
The first was the OnePlus 3T and we have seen the OnePlus 5T which arrived barely six months after the launch of the OnePlus 5. That tradition will continue with the OnePlus 6T which is expected to be launched in a few months’ time, possibly in October.
With OnePlus 6T, OnePlus is likely to archive the benchmark which no other Chinese OEM has achieved yet. Earlier this year OnePlus CEO Pete Lau said his company was working on having its smartphones sold by US carriers.
As per the recent reports, OnePlus 6T will reportedly get the backing of US carrier, T-Mobile. As per the reports device will only be sold by T-Mobile in the US, while others may join the brand with OnePlus 7 if everything goes smooth.
According to sources familiar with the deal which is said to still be in the negotiation table, the major US carrier will retail the OnePlus 6T and an agreement has been reached to that effect. However, OnePlus will need to get a technical approval which is the testing required by T-Mobile to get certification on the network. The failure of OnePlus to get this approval could delay the rollout as the OnePlus 6T may likely get launched in October.
Nothing has been revealed on the specification front of the device but it is expected to run on Snapdragon 845 chipset like its predecessor, similar to OnePlus 6 even T version should get up to 8GB of RAM. The screen’s design might change, though, coming with a much smaller notch like the recently unveiled Oppo R17.
There is no official confirmation of the prices of the device but $550 is what the OnePlus 6T should start with.
