As per the report, at the moment Realme is working on “structure and principles” and was yet to lock the location for its first experience store. The Plan of rolling out the first experience store is in second Q of 2019.
The steps is speculated to be the part of development FDI Policy change for online retailers. Just to refresh, the government brought in changes to its FDI policy for online retailers, at the end of last year the policy was first floated in 2016. As per the new rules, the government has barred online marketplaces like Flipkart and Amazon from entering into exclusive deals for selling products on their platforms. With this, a vendor cannot sell for more than 25 per cent of products at a marketplace — Realme used to sell via both Flipkart and Amazon. The changes will be effective from February 1.
The new rule has removed the concept of online only policy for the companies and as per the industry top notch, companies like Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus and others will have to increase their offline market strength.
Earlier these brands used to sell their smartphones exclusively on a particular e-commerce platform to drive sales and create hype through flash sales and steep discounts.
Report also suggest that Realme 3 will become reality somewhere in Q1 of 2019. Company has not revealed any details of specification or price of the device. It is also reported that company is working on the 48 MP device.
