The Redmi Go is powered by a Snapdragon 425 with four Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.4GHz. There’s 1GB of RAM and either 8GB or 16GB of storage, which can be expanded with a microSD card. The Redmi Go actually employs a hybrid slot so you can choose between extra storage and dual SIM support, but can’t have both.
The phone also comes with 3,000mAh battery. Additionally, the company has included an 8-megapixel rear camera with an LED flash as well as 5-megapixel front shooter in the smartphone. The exact operating system of the phone is unclear, but it is most likely Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition).
On the software front the device, like the Samsung J2 Core and Nokia 1, will run Google’s streamlined software of Android Go which brings on board Go apps like Maps Go, YouTube Go, and others. The software will be based on Android 8.1 Oreo and not on Android 9 Pie.
