As reported earlier, Xiaomi is all set to launch the separate brand Redmi in an event scheduled on January 10 in
The Redmi X from Xiaomi has been listed on JD.com with an asking price of CNY 9,999 (roughly Rs. 102,300) and while this pricing is not up to Xiaomi’s affordable standards, the Redmi X price on the online listing is said to be placeholder tag. The listing features a smartphone behind the curtains with the name Redmi X and while this could be the official name of the upcoming device from Xiaomi, it could also be a makeshift moniker. This is because there are also rumours about the 48-megapixel camera smartphone from Xiaomi being the Redmi Pro 2 or the Redmi Note 7.
In another development, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has also shared some official images of the alleged Redmi X via his Weibo account and while the post was first spotted by Nashville Chatter, Redmi X teased image revealed that the device will come with a 2.5D glass rear body along with black, blue and pink colour options. While the Black colour option comes with a matte finish, the other two colour options seem to have a gradient back.
Moreover, the images shared by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun also reveals that the Redmi X will come with a dual rear camera setup where one will be a 48-megapixel AI camera sensor while there will also be a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner on the smartphone. The design of the device is also similar to the teaser images shared by a couple of Xiaomi executives and it is more than confirmed that this is indeed the first 48-megapixel camera smartphone from Xiaomi.
On the other hand, other specifications of the Redmi from Xiaomi smartphone have been leaked multiple times and the smartphone is expected to sport a 6.3-inch full HD+ display featuring waterdrop notch design, up to 6GB of RAM, Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC, Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top, USB Type-C support and a 4000mAh battery with support for 10W charging.
