Launching the new devices and creating the sub-brand to launch the devices seems to be the hobby of Oppo. Now, Brian Shen, company Vice President, announced Reno – a new product line in the Oppo portfolio.
Shen posted the teaser on Weibo, and the top comment is by the company account, saying this is not a sub-brand but “a new product line”. We are yet to see what is Oppo planning to do, but our assumptions are leading to a gaming series after
Other way of looking to this could be the brand’s logo. That has also been revealed, which uses lively colours, hinting that the sub-brand could be youth-focused. The combination of game and youth can be related and could be the gaming phone.
Unlike iQOO though this product has a name that is easy to pronounce – Ree-noh (just like the city in the state of Nevada, United States). We are yet to see if Reno will follow the path of Realme which had one device launched under the mother brand, later separating into a different entity.
Also, the China-based smartphone manufacturer has also announced that this new Oppo Reno’s first smartphone will be launched on 10th April in China. No further information related to this update smartphone is available as of now. Reno-branded smartphone is expected to have a different design from the previous Oppo smartphones.
Brian Shen had also revealed that the smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest and the most powerful processor so far — Snapdragon 855. In the camera department, the smartphone will come with Oppo’s 10x optical zoom technology, which was showcased by the company at Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona, Spain.
Further, Shen Yiren has also confirmed that the device will be driven by a 4,065mAh battery. While he has not mentioned anything regarding the fast charging support, we expected the smartphone to have a powerful fast-charging technology.
