All most all the flagship of this year has been launched and we have got some exceptionally well specked and great featured devices. But, now its time to move on and it seems that next year is going to be Samsung year. Samsung’s next big thing is coming early next year, yes we are talking about Samsung Galaxy S10. Rumors have already stated that the Samsung Galaxy S10 will finally go for an edge-to-edge display without a notch and an in-display fingerprint sensor will take care of the verification system.
However, one of the latest rumors regarding S10 has confirmed that Samsung is surely going ahead with an in-display sensor and some new information has been unearthed in this regard.
Information from tipster Ice Universe has confirmed the presence of an in-display fingerprint sensor on the Samsung Galaxy S10. However, unlike the optical sensor that we have been exposed to from Vivo, OnePlus, Xiaomi and Huawei, the one on the S10 will use a drastically different technology a technology that has been sitting on the shelves for a relatively long amount of time and no one has used it.
Samsung is reportedly opting for Qualcomm’s ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor for the S10. The sensor is said to be 30 percent bigger in size than the existing sensors and is promised to be considerably faster than the optical setups. The sensor will cover more area on the display, which means users won’t have to confined to a smaller space for placing their finger and unlocking the phone.
Both Samsung and Qualcomm are so confident of this technology that the in-display technology will eventually replace the Iris Scanner on the Galaxy S10. This means that the in-display sensor will be the only way to unlock the phone, removing any sort of contact-less biometric verification. In fact, the technology will be exclusive to Samsung phones for a period of six months after the launch of the S10.
Do note that the information is still a leak and hasn’t been confirmed by Samsung, which is why you should take this with a pinch of salt. However, if the S10 is anywhere near what the rumors are describing, then Samsung could have a winner on its hands to challenge its hardcore rivals.
